New year, Big Plans

It's already Feburary and I can't beleive it.

I won't lie, for a major part of last year and the beginning of this year, I certainly felt some creative block. Inspiration has eluded me amongst the busyness of christmas and the new year.

But I am back, with a vengenace! .... and some plan of course.

First I should state, the site now has the new home page I was working on last year. This brings a slide deck that hopefully will be easy to update with new photos as time goes by and other features.

Secondly, not only is there now an entire page and form you can fill out to contact me (which now does not go to my personal email, thankfully) there is also a link/button through to my actual store page.

The store page in question
The store page in question

I only have a few photos up there at the moment and I am getting a large number of my current portfoilo vetted and submitted for the store. If you do not see a picture you would like to buy on the store, please do let me know and i'll let you know if its in progress or otherwise and a time scale.

All prices start from £3.99 which is the base cost for my photos at this time, it does increase when you want to get physical items and the checkout page does show what the breakdown of the costs are.

In my opinion, I do think they are reasonable prices offered by the store for the physical items and the fact they are clear who gets what amount works for me. I do hope you all appreciate it the same.

You can visit it by clicking the button on the homepage or by heading to

Anyway, back to the meat of the topic!

The idea is now to ramp up my actual photo taking by a significant margin, and I actually need to plan things out now rather than just winging it and going out when I get a burst of "I want to!"

I did feel for a while that what I was doing was slightly pointless and I can say I was worried I had done all this for a whim. I took that to heart and thought about it for a good while, and in the end I have drafted a plan (which im keeping secret for the time being) which should reach two main objectives.

A. At the end of the plan, I will have a varied set of photos which will have a story and a reason bigger than "because I want to" at the end. I'm not saying that is a bad reason, just on it's own it doesn't have a large standing.

and B. I will have created a story and a reason to publish often and frequent posts on social media, increasing my public image. Of course also giving you guys plenty more cool photos to look at and read about.

Additional side stuff does include further outreach in the communtiy, greater confidence with social media (kinda scary for me I won't lie) and editing software. A large part of this plan relies on me actually learning this skill that I have ignored for far too long.

I am personally interested in this topic ( major reason of why I am doing this after all) because it does affect a large part of the area I live in and I personally want to bring the view point of before and after.

Showing off the landscape and structures before, during and after allows us to see the gradual change of how we live and see stuff. I think my first example will be a recent set but much more centrally viewed on (at least where I live) because both subjects did make a large, substantial impact to everyone in the town and I wish to show all this.

Some instances won't have a before which does put a bit of a damper on the idea and plan, but I can rely on other media to show this and I look forward to the challenge, and at the end seeing how interested people will be in it.

Over the next week I hope to be in contact with some people in the community and will have the plan take a solid shape. Once I have that done, I look forward to bringing you all a small viewing of what I see!

Your local fool of a photographer,

Caia
